Hi! Today I’m going to talk to you about a famous author and my school trip to England!
Jane Austen is a famous British author who was born in the 18th century. I read one of her books in Literature class and I really enjoyed it! Jane Austen wrote lots of books like Pride and Prejudice, Northanger Abbey and Sense and Sensibility. I read Northanger Abbey in class, it was really interesting.
The protagonist of the story is Catherine Morland, a young lady who lives in a little village : Fullerton. When she was a child, Catherine was a very boyish girl, a tomboy.
One day, her neighbours (Mr. and Mrs. Allen) ask her if she wants to accompany them in Bath, a city in England. She accepts and is really enthusiastic. She meets Mr. Tilney, a handsome and wealthy man. He asks her if she wants to go to his house to discover the city : Northanger Abbey. She discovers mysteries, people, I do not want to spoil!
I really recommend this book, it is mysterious, and the author is wonderful!
My school trip to England :
I went to a school trip to England in November. It was wonderful!! I went to England with my class and my sister’s class. There were five teachers to accompany us : my literature teacher, two history and geography teachers, a French teacher and another literature teacher who retired a few years ago.
We went to Bath (Like in Northanger Abbey!), Stratford-Upon-Avon (Shakespeare’s birthplace), Gloucester, Windsor and Oxford. My favorite place was definitely Stratford-Upon-Avon, it is a really cute village. We wstayed with British families near Gloucester and mine was great! This school trip was incredible and I hope I will be able to take part in another one soon!
We visited Jane Austen’s museum, it was really interesting, we even had the chance to wear costumes of the 18th century! We also visited Shakespeare’s museum, I liked it a lot too.
